Mrs. Sammie Brown Riggs' Obituary
CHARLESTON, SC-
Sammie Brown Riggs, 88, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014, in Albany, Georgia. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church in Perry, Georgia. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 27, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church. Interment will be in Christ's Sanctified Holy Church Cemetery immediately following the service.
Mrs. Riggs was born in Georgetown, Mississippi, and was the daughter of the late Sam and Mary Campbell Brown. She had lived in Charleston since 1986, moving there from Atlanta. While in Atlanta, she worked for her husband as a bookkeeper at Stylon of Decatur, a tile and carpet business that he owned. Mrs. Riggs became sanctified in 1953 and was a long-time, faithful, and dedicated member of Christ's Sanctified Holy Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Charles Cleveland Riggs.
Left to cherish the memory of Mrs. Riggs are her daughters, Diane Riggs of Charleston, SC, and Becky Collier (Gary) of Leesburg, GA; her sister, Erna Edwards of Americus, GA; her grandchildren, Brian Collier(Mindy) of Albany, GA, Jeffrey Collier (Kelly) of Raleigh, NC, and Lauren Collins (Patrick) of Leesburg, GA; and her great-grandchildren, Mabry Collier, Cohen Collier, Courtland Collier, and Rosalie Collier.
