Ruth Parrish Moore's Obituary
Ruth Parrish Moore, 82, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 25, 2018, just over one month after her husband passed away. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the visitation. Mrs. Moore was born in Valdosta on September 16, 1936, to the late Aubrey and Ruth Herring Parrish. While her children were young, she stayed at home to create a loving a nurturing environment in which to raise them and train them to be successful adults. Once they moved away from home, Mrs. Ruth began working for the Houston County Board of Education as a “Lunchroom Lady” at Morningside Elementary School in Perry. She enjoyed loving and nurturing children daily and retired after working there for 25 years. Mrs. Ruth was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Talmadge Moore. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Aubrey Sheldon Parrish, Raymond Parrish, and Vada Parrish Anderson. Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Ruth are her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Steve Avery of Birmingham, Alabama; her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Patty Moore of Hiram, Georgia; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her brother, William F. Parrish (Delores) of Valdosta; and several nieces and nephews. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
