Ruth Lee Bass' Obituary
Willa Ruth Lee Bass, 92, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m., the hour preceding the service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests contributions to Georgia Alzheimer's Association, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346.
Mrs. Bass was born in Pulaski County to the late Joseph and Martha Watson Lee. She was a long-time resident of Perry, where she was a member of Houston Lake Baptist Church. She retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base after 20 years of service. Mrs. Bass moved to Houston, Texas, to be near her daughters in 2004, then moved with them to Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 2012. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Sherman Bass; and her siblings, George Lee, Tommy Lee, Erolene Hays, Myrtice Denton, Edna Odom, Alice Waddell, and Dell Taunton.
Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Bass are her daughters, Barbara Brogan of Chattanooga, TN, Pat Bass (Larry Robbins) of Lafayette, IN, and Elaine Kemp of Chattanooga, TN; her brothers, Sam Lee (Doris), Robert Lee (Alleene); her 99-year-old sister, Berta Yates; her grandchildren, Tony Brown (Amy) and Ricky Brown; her great-grandchildren, Brittney Brown, Wesley Brown, Corey Brown, Katelyn Brown, Amanda Allen, and Adriane Allen; her great-great-grandchildren, Jamie Pike and Jackson Pike; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
