RUSSELL CARL SMITH's Obituary
WARNER ROBINS –
Russell Carl Smith passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 12. 2022. He was 65. Services will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2022, in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Travis Graham and Rev. Tommy Dollar officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to The American Diabetes Foundation, 75 Marietta St. NW, #304, Atlanta, GA 30303.
Russell was born in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Cylman Carl Smith and the late Helen Altman Holliday. Russell was very talented and could do just about anything. He worked in Construction for many years, building houses for families to turn into homes. Through a career change, he became a Maintenance Supervisor at Pyrotechnics, Inc. where he served many years of service and where he was appreciated by his co-workers. Russell was a hard worker who didn’t mind physical labor at all. He dedicated his life to taking care of his family, spending time with them and setting the example of a committed, hard-working family man. Russell enjoyed fishing and was thrilled any chance he got to cheer for his favorite team, the University of Florida Gators.
Russell was preceded in death by his father, Cylman Carl Smith; his mother, Helen Altman Holliday; and his brother, Darryl Smith.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Russell are his loving and devoted wife of forty years/soulmate of fifty years, Gloria Dollar Smith of Warner Robins; his children, Joy Howard of Macon, Mertice Goulding of Centerville; Wendy Spraggins (Lance) of Bonaire, and Jessica Goulding of Macon; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his dad, “Pop,” James “Doc” Holliday; his sister, Brenda West (Bruce) of Kathleen; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and fur babies.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry has been entrusted with the arrangements.
