Russell 'Russ' Hutson's Obituary
PERRY-Russell H. "Russ" Hutson, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at Perry United Methodist Church. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service, 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., in the sanctuary at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Elko United Methodist Church or American Cancer Society. Mr. Hutson was born in Springport, Indiana, to the late William L. and Helen Wilson Hutson. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force. Upon his exit from the service, Mr. Hutson began his career in Civil Service at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. After working there for several years, he and his family moved with over 100 other families to Middle Georgia to expand the Civil Service Program at Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Hutson continued working at RAFB, traveling to various bases around the world, working at The Pentagon, and as a Project Manager until his retirement 35 years later. He enjoyed life to the fullest, playing golf and woodworking in his shop often, and making friends and serving his community through the various organizations of which he was a member including Knights of Pythias in New Castle, Indiana, Masonic Lodge - Houston #35 in Perry, Scottish Rite 32 in Macon, Al Sihah Shrine in Macon, Perry Shrine Club (Lifetime Member), and Royal Order of the Jesters in Macon. He was a member of Elko United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Pat Hutson; and a great-grandchild, Baby Angel Hutson. Left to cherish the memories of Russ are his loving and devoted wife of 12 years, Rosemary Bell Hutson of Perry; his children, Doug Hutson (Teresa) of St. Simons Island, and Lisa Hays of Perry; his grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as "Pa" and "Poppy", Chris Hutson (Erica) of Sylvania, Rusty Hutson (Melissa) of Macon, Korah Beth Clark, Tank Hays, Sissy Hays, Alita Sharp (Randy), and Micah Williams; his great-grandchildren, Eric Hutson, Christian Hutson, Hunter Hutson, Chance Hutson, Anderson Hutson, Taylor Hutson, Ethan Williams, Eden Sharp, and Liam Sharp; and several nieces and nephews.
