Ruby Lee Plott Hilderbrand's Obituary
PERRY-
Ruby Lee Plott Hilderbrand, 94, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Macon.
Mrs. Hilderbrand was born in Young Harris, Georgia, to the late Oliver and Mabel Penland Plott. She graduated from Union County High School and attended Young Harris College. Through the years, Mrs. Hilderbrand worked as a clerk at Ben Franklin's ("the original Wal-Mart", according to her), Wheeler's Drugs, and Failes Pharmacy. She was a substitute teacher for the Bibb County School System and was later a house mother at The Academy for the Blind in Macon. A founding member of Houston Heights Baptist Church, she was a faithful follower of Jesus all the days of her life. Her greatest joys in life included baking, gardening, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 27 years, Benjamin Forest Hilderbrand, and three brothers.
Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Hilderbrand are her son and his wife, David and Nancy Hilderbrand of Perry; two grandchildren, Sarah Dickerson and Ben Hilderbrand (Heather); and the lights of her eyes, her four great-grandchildren, P. J. Dickerson, Chloe Dickerson, Mia Dickerson, and Gavin Hilderbrand; and several nieces and nephews.
Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences may be left for the family in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
