Ruby Garrison Alsup's Obituary
RUBY BECK GARRISON ALSUP, 1926--2013
Ruby Beck Garrison Alsup was born November 9, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama to Russ and Lillie Walters Beck, and passed on to God January 12, 2013 in Land O' Lakes, Florida.
All her siblings predeceased her: Lillian Beck Bryant, Mae Beck Slayton, and Walter R. "Buddy" Beck. She worked in law enforcement in Fulton County, GA for several years, as in numerous other areas in her lifetime. During WWII, as a young girl she worked alongside her mother supporting the national war effort by working in an underground ammunitions plant in Macon, GA. Later she worked in law enforcement in Fulton County, GA.
She married and raised two sons: Ronald W. Garrison of Perry, Florida and Thomas Leonard [Lyn] Alsup of Dallas, Georgia. Her life was focused on providing for them, often working two jobs. Later, she found great joy in the birth of her first grandchild, Alaina Alsup Curtis and her brother Jamison Alsup. They became a central part of her life. Recently a great-granddaughter, Juliet, made her smile in these last years.
She is survived by two sons: Ron Garrison and Lyn Alsup; granddaughter Alaina and grandson Jamie; niece Claudia Slayton Berry and nephew Stephen Slayton.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Christ's Sanctified Holy Church in Perry with interment in the church cemetery. A Visitation will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the campgound.
