Ronald Edwin 'Ronnie' Dollar's Obituary
Ronald Edwin "Ronnie" Dollar, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Interment will be private. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Ronnie was born in Louisville, Georgia. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. He lived in Houston County until he moved to Hawkinsville during the 1980's. Ronnie worked as a Route Salesman with Flowers Baking Company for over 20 years, delivering freshly baked goods to stores all across Georgia. For the past 5 years, he worked for Kehe Foods, stocking the shelves in Harvey's and Bi-Lo grocery stores in south Georgia. Ronnie enjoyed working and spent lots of time doing just that. But his greatest treasure in life was his family. He loved spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He listened to his favorite Allman Brothers over and over, and through the years, Ronnie enjoyed fishing when he could and watching western movies. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 42 years, Jackie Dollar; a brother, Buddy Dollar; and his father, Ellis Dollar.
Left to cherish the memories of Ronnie are his children, Kimberly Dollar Smith of Glennville, and Ronnie "Mud" Dollar (Stephanie Lee) of Cochran; his mother, Joyce Carter Moran; 4 grandchildren, Nathan Smith, Sarah Brooke Smith, Jaylin Dollar, and Will Dollar; his siblings, Sue Blair (Junior) of Carrollton, Nancy Johnson (Pete) of Valdosta, Tommy Dollar of Atlanta, David Dollar (Michelle) of Stone Mountain, Jimmy Dollar of Macon, and Gloria Smith (Russell), Karen Moran, Kelvin Moran (Nell), and Keith Moran, all of Warner Robins; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to leave condolences for the family in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry has been entrusted with the arrangements.
