PERRY –
Ronald Kenneth “Ron” Geary, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in the Chapel at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. The funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Campground Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church or the Shriner’s Hospital.
Ron was born on May 8, 1934, in Kingston, New York. Ron's life was marked by a distinguished 20-year career in the Air Force, which he joined at the tender age of 17 with a letter of permission from his mother. His military tenure was characterized by a steadfast commitment to service and excellence. Following his honorable discharge, Ron served as the Head of Energy Control for the Charleston County School District. He also dedicated many years to Trident Technical College as the superintendent of buildings and later worked in maintenance at The Hamptons of Perry, as well as at Ace Hardware.
Ron was a proud Shriner and Mason, delighting many as a Keystone Kop in Shriners parades, a role that highlighted his playful spirit and community involvement. His commitment extended into his spiritual life as a devoted member of Christ's Sanctified Holy Church.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David Geary; his daughter, Karen Geary; and his brother, Dewayne Geary.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Ron is his loving wife of 39 years, Dollie Geary; his cherished granddaughter, Heather Minter (Billy) of Charleston, South Carolina; and his three great-grandchildren, Billy Minter III, Kara Beth Minter, and Mason Minter. He is also survived by several bonus children and their families, and many other extended family members.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at https://www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
