Roger was a friend and classmate of mine. I enjoyed serving on our class reunion committees with him. He was instrumental in contacting our classmates and getting the word out for our class reunions. I will hold Roger’s family in my prayers. He is in pain no more.
Roger was a special friend to me through the past 20 years or so. We grew up together, yet did not become best friends until he returned home from California. It was a joy to be around him and listen to all his stories. He was so highly intelligent and helped me by advising me on many things in my life. He loved people and was always willing to help anyone with anything. He would give you the "shirt off his back" if you asked him to do so. I will miss our many visits and conversations. I always walked away with more knowledge than I had before I walked into his room. He made good a very confining situation. Although I know he did not want to be in the nursing home, he tried to keep on ministering to others, especially the workers there, which he always sympathized with them and any problems in their lives. I'm sure he spent many hours praying for me, my family, and anyone and everyone that he met along the way. I will miss his friendship, his giving heart, encouragement, and wonderful/wise advice. I'm wishing I could visit with him one last time, yet I know we will see one another again soon at the feet of our Saviour. My sympathy to each of you in this great loss. God Bless, Diane Holley
