GROVANIA-Robin Gordy Meadows, 51, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, after an extended illness. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, January 23, 2016, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Haynesville. Funeral Services will also be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Haynesville. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Perry immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to The Lydia Project in Augusta, 1369 Interstate Parkway, Augusta, GA 30909, Georgia Regents University Cancer Center, 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Robin was born in Macon and grew up in Warner Robins. She graduated from Warner Robins High School and continued her education to become a Certified Medical Coder. Robin enjoyed traveling, was an animal lover, and was proud to support missionaries traveling to Nicaragua, Honduras, and other poverty-stricken areas abroad. Robin was preceded in death by her father, Billy Gordy. Survivors include her loving mother, Bobbie Upton Gordy of Centerville; her husband, Alton Meadows of Grovania; her children, Michelle Herron (Robby), James Meadows, Jr., and Lyndon Meadows; two grandchildren, Reese Herron and Morgan Herron; her brother, Wayne Gordy (Cindy); two nephews; one niece; and her beloved dogs, Casey Bug and Shelay.Condolences may be left at www.watsonhunt.com.
