PERRY, GA- Rob Townsend, 49, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at 10:00 AM at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be immediately following at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at the Funeral Home. Burial will be private in a National Cemetery in Colorado. Rob was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to the late William Henry and Hyon Shin Townsend. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force and continued in the Air Guard for a combined 22 years. After active duty which took him to the Gulf War, Rob worked with Civil Service as a Logistics Officer at various Air Force Bases including Layton AFB, Buckley AFB, and Robins AFB. He enjoyed traveling and welcomed the re-locations offered to him by Civil Service. Rob was an avid golfer and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was so proud of the guns that he had collected through the years, and really liked spending time at the firing range. Rob was a funny man with a great sense of humor. Those who knew and loved him will miss him tremendously. Left to cherish the memories they shared with Rob are his beloved daughter, Victoria Townsend Hodges (Xavier) of Layton, Utah; his siblings, Cindy McLaughlin of Fresno, CA, Allen Townsend (Chooja) of York, SC, Vernon Townsend (Lauren) of Moyock, SC, and Kristi Townsend of Clarkesville, TN; several nieces and nephews including Alex, Andrew, Sarah, Ryan, and Kimberly; and his loving and devoted girlfriend, Nicky Henry of Dubai.
