FORT VALLEY, GA - Robert Howard “Rob” McConnell, Jr., 61, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 1, 2022, after an extended illness. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Fort Valley. The V Read Obituary
I will always remember Mr. McConnell as funny, loving, family-oriented, and a big fan of basset hounds and UGA! I will never forget the Halloweens we spent as young girls where we would meet at the McConnell's for Mr. McConnell's chili before trick or treating, and the snow days spent hunkered down playing games and watching movies with the McConnell family. He was a delight and a treasure, and I think of him often. I have chosen to light a pink candle because pink represents gratitude, which I have in multitudes for Mr. McConnell and the entire McConnell family for including me for so many years.

One of the very best friends of my life and like a brother beyond our fraternity ties. We shared many great times together - football games, road trips, and early married/family life. We rented our first place after college (536 Granite Ridge Place) and partnered in buying and fixing up our first house (3902 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd.). Rob had a great sense of humor, a giving nature, and much love in his heart for friends and family. My heart goes out to his family for losing such a great human being. Dan Dodson
