Robert Cleveland 'Bob' Molton's Obituary
PERRY- Robert Cleveland “Bob” Molton, Jr., 77, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018, after an extended illness. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery, 6511 Houston Road, Macon. Mr. Molton, born on December 20, 1940 in Byron, grew up in Middle Georgia. He loved fast cars and drag racing. He learned to water ski at Houston Lake and was an excellent skier. Bob was a third-generation Journeyman Brick Mason. He lived by the philosophy that his grandfather taught him – “if you’re going to dig a ditch, dig the best ditch that you can dig.” He gave his best to every project on which he ever worked, and he continued in the footsteps of his father and his grandfather, building and improving commercial and residential projects his whole life. He was proud of his work and proud of the legacy that his ancestors left him. When the time came, he began teaching his son, Randy, the family trade, preserving the industry’s secrets, all the while leaving a wonderful legacy and his “signature” of quality work in businesses and homes all over the state of Georgia. A past contractor working for the Houston County Board of Education, Bob and his crews built several of the gymnasiums at local schools, and many years ago, they built a crematory that is still in use today. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Charles Brooks. Left to cherish the memories they made with Bob are his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Janell Molton of Perry; his children, Robbie Molton of Florida, Terrie Molton Pauley (Butch) of Chicago, Randall Molton (Denise) of Byron, and Robert D. Molton of Perry; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Ann Molton Brooks of Lizella; and several nieces and nephews. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
