He was a faithful and reliable participant in the success of the Camp Ground for almost 80 years since its founding, He willingly sacrificed long trips, long hours and long absences from home and family to improve the Camp Ground and its facilities. He used his skills as a carpenter, electrician, plumber, roofer and whatever he was asked to do. The facilities we enjoy today are the progression of the labors begun on these grounds in 1938. Many who have passed on could, without having seen this today, say “we built that “. Additionally, he along with Ernest Curry and Callie Gray operated the Camp Meeting Cafeteria several years. He was always sought after to “fix” things on the Camp Ground such as busted pipes, faulty wiring, broken water heaters or broken-down cars. The family is eternally grateful for the loving care of their father by the staff at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Home for the Aged. Also thank Draper Watson for his careful personal attention to all of the details for these services.
