Rita Katie Higginbotham's Obituary
Rita Katie Loritta Denton Higginbotham, age 79, a longtime resident of Mobile, AL passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014 at a local hospital. Katie "Rita" was born in Noxubee County, MS to the late Albert and Pauline Denton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Denton. For many years, she was active with the Mardi Gras Stripers Association building floats. She loved looking at her birds and flowers. She is survived by her daughters, Marilynn (Larry) Putman of Grand Bay, AL, Debbie (Charlie) Betts of Caledonia, MS, Susan (Ray) Goodwin of Theodore, AL, sons, Charles Perry (Lee) Peters of Theodore, AL, Albert (Tina) Higginbotham of Theodore, AL, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, lifelong best friend, Elsie Parny, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 2 pm from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with visitation from 12 to 2 pm. Interment will follow in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
