RICK "BIG DADDY" WILLIAMS's Obituary
HAYNESVILLE –
Richard Eugene “Rick” Williams passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. He was 55 years old. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Haynesville. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., and the Funeral will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Winfred Huff and Brother Rusty Sumner officiating. Interment will be in the cemetery at First Baptist Church of Haynesville immediately following the service.
Rick was born on April 29, 1969, in Warner Robins. A lifelong resident of Houston County, he began working for his father at R & R Auto & Truck Salvage in Warner Robins while he was still in high school and was a 1987 graduate of Warner Robins High School. When his father passed away, Rick and his brother, Robby, inherited the business. R & R has continued to develop and thrive through the years under Rick’s leadership for over thirty-five years. He married the love of his life, Cindy Tucker, in 1995 and moved to Haynesville in the early 2000’s. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming cattle with the family. Rick also spent time growing vegetables to share with his family and friends. A beekeeper, he and his family harvested and bottled fresh honey quite regularly and also developed an art for making mead, honey wine. Rick created a life from which he didn’t need a vacation. His home and family farm were where he wanted to be, and his greatest passion in life was his family. His grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as “Big Daddy,“ were the lights of his life. Spending time with them, showing them how to live a simple life on the farm, and sharing his knowledge and love with them were his favorite things to do. Rick will be dearly missed.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Richard Williams.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Rick are his loving and devoted wife of thirty years, Cindy Tucker Williams of Haynesville; his children, Ricky Williams (Emily) of Summerville, TN, Chris Williams (Lizzie) of White House, TN, Matt Williams of Haynesville, Jennifer Warren (Billy) of Perry, and Michelle Behel (Mason) of Haynesville; his grandchildren, Harper Warren, Kennedy Warren, Brooklyn Warren, Peyton Deraney, Weston Behel, Ledger Williams, and Ella St. Dennis; his mother, Faye Doris (Larry) of Brunswick; his brother, Robby Williams (Kendra) of Haynesville; his sister, Mandy Watson (Shannon) of Kathleen; and many nieces and nephews.
