Richard Harvey Weik, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church in the Park. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 until 2:00. A private interment will be held in Perry Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Church in the Park, Perry, GA 31069 or Grace Church, 1736 Houston Lake Road, Perry, GA 31069. Mr. Weik was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Perry, Georgia in 1966. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He worked in Contracting for Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base for 35 years. Mr. Weik was an avid golfer who loved Perry Country Club, where he was a long-time member, and was thrilled to have had seven Hole-in-One shots during his lifetime. Music was in his soul, as he loved music, dancing, and singing, especially the song, “You Are My Sunshine,” over and over to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren through the years. His family was so special to him, and he treasured each and every moment spent with them. Mr. Weik was a member of Grace Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Weik. Left to cherish the memories they made with Richard are his loving wife of 13 years, Marianne Moody Weik of Perry; his children, Jane Weik of Lake Blackshear, Tom Weik (Sandra) of Hoover, AL, and Joan Williamson (Maynard) of Perry; his bonus children, Robin Williamson (Gino) and Cainan Whelchel (Kate), both of Perry; four grandchildren; eight bonus grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and six bonus great-grandchildren. His brother, Bill Weik, and many nieces and nephews also survive. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
