PERRY –
Richard Darrell Harris, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 7, 2021, at his home. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in the Fain Cemetery in Stuart, Virginia. Bassett Funeral Home in Bassett, Virginia, will announce the details of the service as soon as they are available. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Perry Volunteer Outreach, 801 Commerce Street, Perry, GA 31069.
Richard was born on November 4, 1956, to the late Ralph Darrell Harris and the late Dorothy Williams Hundley. He was retired from Wal-Mart in Perry.
Survivors include his brother, Robert Harris (Penny) of Abbeville; his sisters, Wanda Straughan (Sherwood) of Lexington, North Carolina, and Debra Wright (Walter) of Martinsville, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patricia Harris Smith; and a brother, Randall Lee Harris.
