Rex Arlyn Parish's Obituary
Rex Arlyn Parish, Sr., of Byromville, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019. A Memorial Dinner will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at Bahama Bob’s, 2132 Macon Road, Perry, Georgia, 31069. An inurnment will take place at a later date in Andersonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made towards the funeral expenses and may be mailed to Watson-Hunt Funeral Home, Post Office Box 52, Perry, Georgia 31069.
Rex was born on December 7, 1954, in Lansing, Michigan, to the late Earl Rex and Helen Louise Sutfin Parish. He joined the Army during the Vietnam Era and served as a truck driver hauling dynamite. Rex loved to build and ride motorcycles and was especially fond of 70’s year model Honda motorcycles. He had a huge collection of eagle figurines, which he came to love from the collection his mother kept. Rex loved being a Michigan State Spartans fan. He was known around town for his work in the wood cutting industry. Rex is preceded in death by his parents.
Rex is survived by his children, Rex Parish Jr., Earl Parish, and Crystal Parish; his siblings, Earlene Burkes, Victor (Teresa) Parish, Gwendolyn (Thomas) Hlusak, and Elden (Mary) Parish; two grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews, and companion, Robyn McBride.
