Rebecca Pettway Russell's Obituary
Rebecca Pettway Russell, was the 10th child of Dillard and Rozenia Cobb-Pettway and was a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL. She departed this life on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in a local hospital surrounded by her loving family and was preceded in death by her parents, as well as one sister, Martha Ann Pettway-Short and eight brothers…Ernest, Rolin, Eprett, Austin, L.C., Timothy, A.L. and Zack Pettway. She was also preceded by her son Timothy B. Russell Jr., one grandson, Gerald Russell and one granddaughter, Angela J. Russell.Rebecca Russell was a long time member of Amity Baptist Church where she served as a dedicated Sunday School Teacher and choir member. She also received her Associate Degree in Childhood Development from Bishop State which she utilized working with children at Trinity Land Daycare as an Assistant Director for many years. Her hobbies included reading Romance Novels, Crossword Puzzles and a Great Love for Movies.Rebecca Russell leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted family of seven daughters… Thelma Scott, Dianne McCants, both of Mobile, AL. Linda Russell, Atlanta, GA.; Leona (David) Russell-Bolduc, Fairfax, VA.; Tammy Russell, Mobile, AL.; Marsha Russell and Karen (Robert) Dunn both of Atlanta, GA. & Two Sons Randal and Rodney (Veretressa) Russell, both of Mobile, AL.; as well as 12 Grandchildren & 5 Great- Grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
