A 1974 DCHS graduate, Randy earned a music scholarship to Georgia College where he completed a dual degree in Business and Economics. He was never afraid of hard work, as he exhibited while still in high school by working at Blue-Bird Body Company in Ft. Valley and Eastman Cotton Mill, all the while maintaining his own lawn care business. After college, he worked at McGaw Industries before being hired in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base in December of 1983 as a Contract Specialist, where he retired in 2011 after 28 years of service. It was at RAFB that Randy met the love of his life, Dorothy Dunham. The couple married and made their home in Perry in 1987 where they raised their 3 children. Through the years, Randy was an avid sportsman, playing, coaching, and watching any and all kinds of sports. He loved Georgia Tech and the Atlanta Braves, and was thrilled to attend the Super Bowl in 2011. Randy was passionate about supporting his children and never missed any of their activities. He coached his sons' baseball and basketball teams in the Perry Recreation Department and his daughter's softball teams at Perry Junior League. Randy was a devoted family man.
