RANDY EDWIN CRUTCHFIELD's Obituary
Randy Edwin Crutchfield passed away on April 11, 2024, from complications related to Charcot Marie Tooth Disease (CMT).
Randy was born in Macon, Georgia on April 5, 1955, to Vivian Mitchell Crutchfield and Jack E. Crutchfield. When he was two years old, the family moved to Perry, Georgia where his Father was Manager of the Georgia Power Company. He lived most of his life in this small town which he loved.
Randy graduated from Perry High School and Mercer University. He worked 40 years at the Middle Georgia Consortium, a public-private partnership that connects job seekers with career services, education, and job training. Randy took great pride and pleasure in helping his fellow Central Georgians along their career paths.
CMT is a progressive disease that causes nerve damage in your arms and legs and affects balance and the ability to walk. However, Randy tackled his limitations with courage and a positive attitude. He had a keen mind, was an avid reader, and had an encyclopedic knowledge in a wide array of subjects, from history, politics, cultures, and cuisines to fast cars, film, and space exploration. He loved nothing more than sharing a good meal with friends and engaging in meaningful conversations on any variety of subjects.
Randy is survived by his sister, Cheryl Crutchfield Vienna, his brother-in-law, David P. Vienna, Jr., and his loving and loyal friends who supported and cared for him throughout the years.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
