RACHEL ARMSTRONG MARTIN's Obituary
Rachel Armstrong Martin, 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., and the Funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Brad Blackmon officiating. Inurnment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fort Valley, GA, immediately following the service. A gathering to celebrate Rachel’s life will be hosted by the family at 100 Glenn Oaks Rd, Perry, GA 31069, immediately following the burial.
Rachel Armstrong Martin was born on July 18, 1947, in Fort Valley, GA, to the late Raymond O. Armstrong and the late Louise Meritt Armstrong. She was the oldest of seven children and graduated from Fort Valley High School in 1965. In 1974, Rachel married the love of her life, James L. Martin. They enjoyed 43 years of marriage and were blessed with a daughter, Misti Randles, who was the light of their lives. Rachel was a kind, family-oriented, and light-spirited individual who loved her family dearly. She also had a deep affection for animals and enjoyed adding to her various collections.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Louise Armstrong.
Rachel leaves behind a loving family, including her daughter Misti Randles (Charlie), and three cherished grandchildren: Christopher P. Randles, Dallas D. Randles, and Brionna A. Randles. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers: Marie Osborn, Marilyn Haygood (Garth), Raymond O. Armstrong (Debbie), James S. Armstrong (Rhonda), Robert S. Armstrong, and Charles E. Armstrong, along with many nieces and nephews.
Rachel will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, family devotion, and cheerful spirit will always be remembered.
