PEGGY PYLES DOBBS's Obituary
Peggy Pyles Dobbs, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2024, in Bainbridge, GA. A memorial service will be held at Grovania Methodist Church on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. If you feel moved to do so, the family respectfully requests that you bring food to donate to Loaves and Fishes. A private burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery in Perry, GA. Peggy was born on February 13, 1936, in Grovania, Georgia, to the late Charles Pyles and the late Estelle Ray Pyles. She graduated from nursing school in Augusta, Georgia, and married Dr. Olin C. Dobbs in 1957. Peggy raised their five children while her husband served in the Army for twenty years. After her children were grown, Peggy returned to nursing. She touched many lives throughout her nursing career which spanned over twenty years. Known for her special hugs, she brought love and joy to everyone she met.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Pyles; her sister, Virginia Pyles Kneece; her sister, Sara Pyles Paul; and her brother, Charles “Pete” Pyles.
Survivors include her children, David Carl Dobbs (Carla) of Bainbridge, GA, Charles Wade Dobbs (Denise) of Billings, MO, John Scott Dobbs of Perry, GA, Robert Steven Dobbs of Los Angeles, CA, and Nina Suzann Dobbs (Jill) of McDonough, GA; her grandchildren, Marcia, Nikolai, Nina C., and Cal; her five great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members.
