PAUL JACKSON "JACKIE" BEMBRY JR's Obituary
Unadilla, GA –
Paul Jackson “Jackie” Bembry, 81, passed away unexpectedly, at his residence on Monday, June 26, 2023. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home, with a visitation starting at 1:00 p.m.
Jackie lived most of his life in Unadilla and Perry and was the son of the late Paul Jackson Bembry, Sr. and Elizabeth Etheridge Bembry. Known by his friends as “Jackie” he graduated from Unadilla High School in 1962 then married the love of his life, Jan in 1964, who lovingly called him “PJ”.
Jackie worked as a “milk man” for Sealtest Dairies while pursuing trade school to become a diesel mechanic then worked in maintenance for the Houston County Board of Education. Jackie then worked at Georgia Pacific in maintenance and retired after 20 years. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and birdwatching.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Snyder P. Bembry; sister, Juanita Brannen and son, Snyder Strong Bembry.
Left to cherish the memories made with him are wife of 59 years, Janice Lea Strong Bembry; children, Staci B. Wheeler (Danny) of Perry; Baskin L. Bembry (Dana) of Warner Robins; Paul Jackson Bembry III “Tracee”, of Bellavista Arkansas (Kim Thomas Smith) and Janice Lea Bembry of Hawkinsville; sister, Pat Fulford (Billy) of Alamo, Georgia; grandchildren, Preston Wheeler (Yesenia) of Elko; Tristan Wheeler (Jenna) of Bonaire; Devan Fritts (Brandon) of Warner Robins; Dalton Bembry (Jordyn) of Macon; Shawn Bembry (Olivia) of Ft. Valley; Darrien Wallace (Ridge) of Gray; Kenneth Gabriel Bembry, (Cat Beffa) of Arkansas; Hannah O’Meara Shea Bailey (Michael) of Tacoma Washington, Logan James Oaks Bembry of Arkansas, Candace Passmore, Jonathon Passmore, and Donavon Bembry of Hawkinsville; twelve great-grandchildren along with several nieces and a host of great nieces and nephews.
