PERRY –
Paul Arnold Griffin passed away peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2022, after an extended illness. He was 90 years old. Services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022. The Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home, and a Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to the Nursery, First Baptist Church of Perry, 1105 Main Street, Perry, GA 31069, or The Westfield School, 2005 US Hwy 41, Perry, GA 31069.
Paul was born on February 18, 1932, in Thomaston, Georgia, to the late Joseph, Sr., and Emma Jackson Griffin. He has lived in Perry since 1949. After serving four years in the United States Air Force, he began his career at Robins Air Force Base. He retired after thirty-seven years with the Federal Service and retired again after thirteen years with Computer Sciences. Paul was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Perry for over sixty-five years and a member of the Barnabas Sunday School Class. He was dedicated to his career and devoted to his family.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Nicole Griffin; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Muriel Griffin; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Karen Griffin.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Paul are his loving and devoted wife of sixty-five years, Joyce Griffin of Perry; his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Michael Hamsley of Perry; his beloved grandchildren, Kalla Hamsley and Griffin Hamsley (Allison); and two great-grandchildren, Hayes Hamsley and Olivia Hamsley; his sister, Jean Fox (Robert) of Dallas, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
