PATRICIA ANN MELTON's Obituary
PERRY, GA –
Patricia Ann Byard Melton, 91, took the hand of the Lord and entered into her heavenly home on Monday, August 29, 2022. Services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church in Perry. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m., and the Funeral will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pat’s grandson, Chris Collier, officiating. Interment will be in the Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Campground Cemetery immediately following the service.
A woman of strong faith in God and full of enduring love, Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed studying her Bible, cooking, and spending time with her family. “Pat” to those who knew her, was born in rural Meriwether County on September 27, 1930. She was the eldest of the three children of Paul and Ola Talley Byard. Pat was married on January 10, 1948, to Louie Melton, and the couple resided in the eastern Atlanta-area for many years. She was a member of Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church. Sometime after the loss of her husband, Pat moved to their cabin at the Campground in Perry. She never failed to specifically call out the names of her family and friends in daily prayers.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-seven years, Louie Melton; her siblings, Paula Byard Newroth and Donnie Byard; and a son-in-law, Gary Mashburn.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Pat are her children, Donna (Melton) and Elwood Collier of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Luann (Melton) Mashburn of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Mark and Joy Melton of St. Augustine, FL, and Traci (Melton) and Tim Cory of Grapevine, TX; her grandchildren, Chris and Wendy Collier, Katie Collier, Kayla and Earl Devenburg, Nick Mashburn, Lauren Melton, Leah and Luke Croker, Zach and Chloe Melton, Sarah Cory, and Hannah Cory; six great-grandchildren, Griffin Collier, Jessie and Harrison Vintson, Casher Collier, Cora Devenburg, Naomi Devenburg, and Adalia Melton; several nieces and nephews; and a host of brothers and sisters in the Lord.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to those on the Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Campground, Heart of Georgia Hospice; and everyone who extended their loving care to our mother.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
