Life Legacy
Patricia Sewell Head, 67, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Haynesville. The family will visit with friends on Friday one hour before the service, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., at the church. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church of Haynesville, P. O. Box 69, Clinchfield, GA 31013.Mrs. Head was born in Hawkinsville to the late James and Mary Ruth Borum Sewell. She graduated from Hawkinsville High School in 1969 and attended Tech School. She met and married the love of her life, John Head, and they raised their family in Hawkinsville. Mrs. Head worked as a Supervisor for 20 years with Leshner Mills, formerly Opelika Manufacturing. She had been a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Wilcox County where she was actively involved, teaching Sunday School and participating in WMU. For the past 4 years, Mrs. Head and her husband had lived in Haynesville, where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Haynesville, sang in the adult choir, and participated in WMU. She loved watching sports - baseball, wrestling, racing, and UGA football, among others. She was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Sewell.Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Head are her loving and devoted husband of 45 years, John Head of Haynesville; her children, Scott Head of Macon, Jason Head of Bangor, Maine, Casey Head (Dianne) of Warner Robins, Elizabeth Head and Joseph Head, both of Haynesville; 14 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
