PAT CARROLL's Obituary
PERRY –
Patricia “Pat” Coyle Carroll, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025, after a brief illness. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warner Robins. Inurnment will take place in Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo, Texas, where she will be placed with her beloved husband. Details of that service will be announced as soon as they are available. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Summerhill Activities Fund, 500 Stanley Street, Perry, GA 31069.
Pat was born on February 28, 1936, in Sayre, Pennsylvania, to the late Bernard and Ruth Sullivan Coyle. After high school graduation, she married the love of her life, Ray Carroll. Pat soon became the perfect military wife to her career Air Force husband, moving every four years until his retirement after twenty-four years of dedicated service to our country. The mother of six children, Pat continuously worked tirelessly to create a loving and encouraging environment for her family in every home to which they moved. The family was stationed stateside in Louisiana, Texas, Alaska, and Florida on two different occasions, and abroad in Panama. In each location to which they moved, Pat enjoyed working at the Air Force base’s commissary. While a couple of the kids had already started school, Pat enjoyed taking the younger children to the beach most days. Through the years, she was determined for her children to be raised in the Catholic church just like her husband was. Even when she found it difficult to get all six children dressed and ready, she persevered through the catechism classes, mass, and other church activities every week. In 2010, two years after her beloved husband passed away, Pat began the journey of conversion to Catholicism. Preparing her children all through the years became the foundation of her own decision to convert.
In her spare time, she spent time with her best friend, Donna Turner who eventually moved to Perry, Georgia. When she could, Pat would express her creativity through ceramics and other crafts. Later in life, she came to love assembling puzzles and even framed and displayed some of the more difficult ones of which she was most proud. In 2006, she moved to Perry to be near family, which included her best friend, Donna. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. While at Summerhill, Pat became known as “the puzzle queen” as she was delighted to accept any challenge to join together what were considered “hard.” She had many friends and loved people. Pat’s friendly smile and warm welcome will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her loving and devoted husband of forty-two years, Ray Carroll; a brother, Wally Coyle; and her sisters, Betty Dubler and Jane Coston.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Pat are her children, Barbara Jennings of Perry, Bob Carroll of Merritt Island, Florida, Jim Carroll (Joyce) of Bullard, Texas, Joe Carroll of Phoenix, Arizona, John Carroll of Melbourne, Florida, and Ray Carroll (Yvonne) of Tahoka, Texas; her grandchildren, Samantha Carroll, Jackson Carroll, Quinn Carroll, Sean Carroll, and Brittany Carroll Mize (Will); two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; her brother, Art Coyle (Lois); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.coom. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
