I met Oscar in 1980 and last saw him in 2018. He was always smart, funny, cheeky, and kind. We taught French together and he will always have a special place in my heart. Rest in peace, dear friend--Barbara B.

He was my friend...to the end. Oscar and I were married on December 19,1959. The marriage didn't last but the friendship lasted a lifetime. We have shared many memories down through the years and had many happy times together.
During our marriage we spent a lot of time with our closest friends Sarah and Paul Beecham...we were nearly inseparable. Paul and Sarah went on their first date with Oscar and me. We went out to dinner (Oscar always knew the best places to eat), shared meals at or homes, traveled together.
Oscar was super intelligent... he could converse on nearly any subject and was very interesting to talk with. He enjoyed a good book, the arts and good food (he was also a good cook). He also had a beautiful singing voice (as all of his siblings)!
Oscar, we will all miss you! But at last you are free!!

Uncle Oscar was kind to me throughout my life, as well as to my children. He was always interesting in how you were doing, and had a way of making you feel special. For years, he sent French pastries for Christmas which we always looked forward to. He enriched my life.

Oscar shared a room with my brother Ernie Chandler at the CSHC nursing home in Perry Georgia. They remembered their childhood days. Glad they got to recall so many memories. They both had very good memories of many years ago. Ernie was 92.
