Oliver Barbour's Obituary
Oliver Franklin Barbour, age 81, a lifelong resident of Irvington, AL departed this life surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 28, 2015 at his home. Oliver worked most of his life as a commercial fisherman, and also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children. One of his favorite places to visit was Branson, Missouri where he loved to ride the duck. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & May Barbour, two brothers, (Joe & RD) two sisters (Coon & Sally) and one grandson (Sean). He is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 61 years, Ethel Titherington, and seven devoted children, Claudia (Porky) & Marvin Thompson, Shirley & Neal Peyregne, Vanessa & Bruce Ezell, Eric & Donna Barbour, Brock & Jewel Barbour, Bruce Barbour, and Ollie & Penny Barbour. Twenty loving grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, his beloved sister, Mary Sprinkle, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and his loyal companion puppy, Tiny. Visitation will be held at San Souci Baptist Church in Bayou La Batre on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 5 pm until. Funeral service will be held at the church on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 11 am. Interment will be at Oddfellow Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lucas Barbour, Zachary Barbour, Paul Cain, Shane Cain, Kenny Sprinkle, and Neal Peyregne. Alternate Pallbearer, Shelton Sprinkle and Honorary Pallbearer is Jonathon Barbour.
