Life Legacy
HAYNESVILLE-George Norman Ford, 68, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017, after an extended illness. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Haynesville with Funeral Services to follow at 3:00 p.m. Reverend David B. Fisher will officiate. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church of Haynesville, 2935 Hwy 341 S, Hawkinsville, GA 31069, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.Norman was born in Doles, Georgia, and graduated from Worth County High School. He was a Glass Glazier formerly working for Perry Glass and The City of Perry. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hog hunting, among other prey, throughout his lifetime. Well-respected as a hunter, he had remarkable family and friends with whom he enjoyed spending time and his love of the outdoors. "Stormin Norman" was loved by everyone who knew him, and was known for calling everyone "Bubba". Norman captured the attention of most he met with his wonderful stories and lively sense of humor. He loved children, and spending time with his grandchildren was very dear to him. Norman leaves such a great legacy for his family. He was preceded in death by his father, G. W. Ford. Left to cherish the memories of Norman are his loving and devoted wife of 29 years, Kimberly Pitzer Ford of Haynesville; his children, Scott Ford (Angela) of Haynesville, Celise Ford Taylor (Bryan) of Kathleen, Brittney Ford Jackson (Jesse Ellis) of Perry, and Blake Barnes (Trent) of Butler; his mother, Frances Ford; his siblings, Beverly Childers (Frankie), Sandy McCard (Billy), Mike Ford (Trish), and Michelle Forkey (Ron); 12 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Pallbearers are Jacob Ford, Dylan Ford, William Ford, Hunter Spell, Chris Jackson, Allen Sinyard, and Chris West. Honorary Pallbearers are Henry Ford, Jerry Ford, Wesley Ford, Sydney Bolton, David Holt, Eric Holt, and Jamie Holt.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
