Nick Joseph Burnett's Obituary
GROVANIA-
Nick Joseph Burnett, 63, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015, after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. Visitation will also be on Monday, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., the hour preceding the service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.
Mr. Burnett was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he grew up and graduated from high school. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy. An expert electrician, he worked in Civil Service in Indiana until he was transferred to Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base in 1996, from which he retired. Nick enjoyed watching NASCAR and most all sports, especially basketball. His favorite past time, though, was playing golf. He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Burnett.
Left to cherish the memories of Nick are his loving and devoted wife, Sheryl McDowell Burnett; his daughter, Kati Burnett of Pulaski County; his step-children, Woody Greene (Jodie) of Marshallville, and Beverly Greene West (Jeff) of Vidalia; his mother and step-dad, Barbara Barton (Dave) of Indianapolis, Indiana; one grandchild; five step-grandchildren; his siblings, Larry Burnett of Cherokee, NC, Joni Stirsman, David Burnett (Tammy), Richard Burnett, John Burnett, and Rachel Kihlstrum, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
