Ms. Nellie, also known by many as Ms. Louise, was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Franklin and Mamie Hudson McIntyre. She spent 17 years living in Folkston, Georgia, but lived most of her life in Fernandina, Florida. She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy of Fernandina where she went with her family and had many friends. A homemaker all of her life, Ms. Nellie was constantly thinking of her family, striving to create the warmest and most welcome environment in which to raise her children. She relentlessly taught her children to always do the right thing and Ms. Nellie was a God-fearing woman who didn’t back down from her Christian beliefs. She was a constant testimony to her faith and was “on-fire” for the Lord. Mrs. Louise raised her seven children “and everyone else’s children, too,” including her step-children, and even had a hand in influencing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A sweet lady with a servant’s heart, she was very generous and always a giver. In 2014, her health began to decline, and she moved to Perry to be near her daughter, Angel, and attended Memorial Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Beatrice “Bea” Lusk.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Ms. Louise are her children, Linda Lee (David), Donald Marshall (Patty), Ronald Marshall (Terry), David Thompson, Angel Morris Dukes (Larry), Randy Marshall (Angela), and Sharon Crosby (Todd); 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her step-children, Ray Thompson (Jody), Jerry Clark (Bobbie), Linda Stephens, Allen Thompson (Anne), Jessie Thompson, Vincent Thompson (Angie), and Denise Stewart (Jerry); 26 step-grandchildren; 60 step-great-grandchildren; 17 step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
