Nelle H. McCuan, 78, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, at the Second Memorial Baptist Church with interment in Perry Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. McCuan was born in Lawn, Texas and the daughter of the late Babe and Bonnie Johnson Hancock. She had lived in Perry since 1959 and was retired from civil service at RAFB. Mrs. McCuan attended Mary Hardin Baylor College in Texas. A faithful member of Second Memorial Baptist Church, she was secretary of the Sunday School Classes, a member of the Benevolence Committee, Vacation Bible School Committee, and was involved with the Georgia Baptist Children's Home Committee. Mrs. McCuan loved her family and always enjoyed helping others.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband; John F. Uhr-Henry of Perry; children, Janet McCuan Lockhart of Acworth, Jeffrey McCuan of Macon, Jimmy McCuan of Perry, and Jessie McCuan( Irene Dalton-McCuan) of Acworth; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, W. G. McCuan and many siblings.
