Nell Shipes' Obituary
Haynesville
Nell Shipes, 83, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the Haynesville Assembly of God Church. Interment will be at the First Baptist of Haynesville Cemetery. a visitation will be from 6-8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Shipes was born in Grovania and was the daughter of the late Melvin and Alice Glenn Hamsley.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Haynesville. Mrs. Shipes will be remembered as a sweet loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always took care of her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Shirley Stone of Haynesville, Barbara Craft (Jack) of Haynesville, Peggy Moore (Mike) of Albany, and Ray Shipes (Jo Ann) of Perry; eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Melvin Hamsley, Willie Hamsley, Jr., Larry Hamsley, Floyd Hamsley, Roy Hamsley, Benny Hamsley, Terry Hamsley, Horace Hamsley, Mary Rucker and Carolyn Vitale. In addition to her husband, Porter Shipes, she was preceded in death by brothers; Frank, Bob, Herman, and Kenneth.
