Nancy Hazelton Epstein's Obituary
PERRY- Nancy Hazelton Epstein, 71, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Those who wish to join in the celebration of Nancy’s life are invited to wear bright colors to the service – in Nancy’s fashion style. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church of Washington, P. O. Box 603, Washington, GA 30673, for a special project in memory of Nancy. Nancy was born and raised in Fayetteville to the late James and Opal Holt Hazelton. In her early years, she taught family life skills to high-school students with special needs. After that experience, Nancy became a cosmetologist, owning and operating her own salon in various locations where she lived. Later, Nancy and her husband, both, worked in Marketing and became Senior Living Consultants, serving and living in over 15 different communities across the United States including Georgia, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Texas, among many others. The couple chose to retire in Perry, Georgia, where they have lived and loved Houston Springs for the past 8 years. Nancy loved her family, and she loved life. She enjoyed serving others and making people laugh anytime she could. She was always involved in the community and made numerous friends wherever she lived. Four years ago, Nancy suffered a debilitating stroke, and had since continuously battled the effects of it. Her passion in life had become finding ways to encourage people and offering hope for everyone she encountered. She loved Facebook and they loved her, as was evident by the number of friends and followers she had and the number of comments she received. Always posting an encouraging word or a positive thought, Nancy used Facebook to let others know how valuable life is and how to best spend the remaining time on this earth, not worrying about the “small things,” but making the “small things” become the “big things” in life. Her caring smile and attitude will certainly be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Left to cherish the memories they made with Nancy are her loving and faithfully devoted husband of 30 years, Dr. Robert “Bob” Epstein of Perry; her daughters, Alicia Madden (Pastor Kevin) of Washington, Georgia, and Jennifer Epstein of Washington, D.C.; her grandsons, Noah Madden (Tarin) of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Taylor Madden of Washington, Georgia; her brother, Ken Hazelton (Harriett) of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
