PERRY, GA - Nadine Weems Paine, 82 of Perry, GA, passed away peacefully on Mar 29, 2022, after a short illness. No immediate service is planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled. Nadine Louise Minard was born on June 5, 1939, to the late Ellery and Marie (Jackson) Minard and was raised in Port Allegany, PA. Nadine attended Port Allegany Union High school and married Larry Elmer Hildreth on April 7, 1959. They traveled all over the United States during Larry's military career. They moved to Georgia in 1973 and Nadine began working at Perry Hospital in February, 1975. She rose through the ranks and was named the hospital administrator on April 26, 1995. She was instrumental in the growth and expansion of the hospital until her retirement on Jun 13, 1998.
In 1993, she married Dr. Horace E. Weems and continued serving the Perry community through the Downtown Development Authority, the Perry Historical Society, the Red Hatter's Society, and the Scerosis Club, as well as owning Card Carousel on Carroll Street. On June 9, 1998, the City of Perry honored her tremendous record of humanitarian and healthcare accomplishments by proclaiming this day as Nadine Weems Day in Perry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 10 years, Dr. Horace E. Weems; her youngest brother, James L. Minard; and her husband of nearly 3 years, John Paine.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jo Anne Pate (Steve) of Marietta and Beth Blakely of Warner Robins; three grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as “Gram,” Lee Pate (Cheryl), Chas Pate, and Gary Blakely (Amanda); three great-grandchildren whose special name for her was “Gigi;” her brothers, Orval E. Minard (Rose) and Richard J. Minard (Carol); and her former husband, Larry Hildreth (Angie).
