Interment will be on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at Floral Memory Gardens in Albany. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., the hour preceding the service, at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Mrs. Farmer was born the second-oldest child of ten in Quitman, Georgia, to the late Warnell and Ola Mae Nobles Willis. She grew up in Albany and married the love of her life, Bobby Farmer. In 1973, they moved to Alachua, Florida, where they would raise their children. In 2000, she returned to Albany, where she lived again until she settled in Perry in 2009 to be near her son and his family. Mrs. Farmer worked at various places in retail sales for a combined 25 years, including S. K. Crest Department Store, Belk's, and the Oaks Mall in Gainesville, Florida. But her passion in life was taking care of children, including her younger siblings, and her own children and grandchildren. Mrs. Farmer said, "the more children you have, the more fun you'll have." She was a member of First Baptist Church of Albany. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Bobby Felton Farmer, and a sister, Mildred Stewart.
Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Farmer are her sons, Tommy Farmer of Melrose, Florida, and Carl Farmer and his wife, Alaine, of Perry; her grandchildren, Brandon and Molly Farmer, Courtney Farmer, and Jillian Farmer, all of Perry; her great-grandchildren, Sophia Grace Farmer, Isabella Ruth Farmer, McKinley Claire Farmer, and James Flint Farmer; her siblings, Reba Stewart, Retha Stewart, J. W. Willis, Harvey Willis, Brenda Bryant, Doris Croyle, Linda McDaniel, and Sherman Willis; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
