Myrtis Evelyn Gunn's Obituary
Myrtis Evelyn Gunn, 93, born November 11, 1920 in New Brockton, AL moved to Grand Bay, AL with her husband and 6 children in 1952. Passed January 31, 2014. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Eloise and Joseph McKenzie, her beloved husband, Tom Gunn, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and 3 infant grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory, 1 brother, William McKenzie, children, Louvern Johnson (James), Houston Gunn (Ginny), Ernestine McRee (Bill), Ellen Erline Dixon (Jerry), Nathon Gunn (Beverly), Melvin Rickey Gunn, 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a loyal member of Irvington Assembly of God Church and Sunday School Teacher for many of the 62 years attended. She loved God, her family and friends and was loved by all. She was truly and Angel on Earth. We would like to give a special thanks to the Grand Bay Convalescent Home for the exceptional love and care given to our mother. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 12 noon. Visitation will be 11 am until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
