Mumta S. Amrit's Obituary
PERRY-
Mumta S. Amrit, 44, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015, after an extended illness. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Private.
Mumta was born in Bardoli, India, to the late Dhriubhai C. Patel and Vimu D. Patel. She grew up in Sacramento, California, and moved to Perry with her family in 1985. Mumta graduated from Perry High School in 1988, the same year she married her loving husband, Shrad. Always smiling, Mumta was a homemaker who worked hard to create a loving environment in which to raise their children. She focused on her family, including her extended family, meeting the needs of others, always putting everyone else above herself. Her personal motto was "service above self", and that is what she tried to instill in her own children and in the four additional children that she raised. Mumta enjoyed cooking authentic Indian cuisine for her family, especially when she was able to cook alongside her sweet mother-in-law, Madhu. She shared her love for cooking with those customers who dined at the local family businesses, Subway Restaurants in Perry and Warner Robins. Mumta would work during busy hours, always serving others, and became friends with many of the regular customers. Everyone who met her would comment and remember what a sweet and friendly lady she was. Over the past couple of years, and especially in recent months, as her health declined, she was unable to continue working. When she could, Mumta attended Perry United Methodist Church where her husband is a member.
Left to cherish the memories of Mumta are her loving husband of 27 years, Shrad K. Amrit; her daughter, Priam Amrit; her son, Deel Amrit; three nieces, Melissa Ramanlal Patel, Natasha Ramanlal, and Trisha Ramanlal; a nephew, Matthew Amrit; her sisters, Alpa Patel and Sima Patel; her brother, Ashish Patel; her mother-in-law, Madhu Amrit; her sisters-in-law, Lata Patel, Jaishree Ramanlal, Nalini Patel, and Vasi Kaushik; a great-nephew, Liam Ramanlal; and several other nieces and nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
