MONNA CASS PEARSON's Obituary
PERRY –
Monna Rae Cass Pearson, 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 13, 2021. A private Graveside Service will be held in Perry Memorial Gardens for the family.
Monna was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, to the late Eugene and Betty Dishan Cass. Growing up in Indiana, she took dance lessons and competed at various levels and in several styles of dance. After high school, she attended college and opened Monna Rae’s School of Dance. A drummer for the band “Helen Ann and the Playmates,” the highlight of her music career was the night her band opened a concert for Elvis Presley. Soon after, she was saved and began playing the drum in church. She met and married the love of her life, Jeffrey Lee Pearson, and the couple moved to Georgia. She was the owner/operator of a cleaning service for over ten years. Monna then turned her attention to Jesus, serving the Lord, and raising her children in the Word. She founded On Fire Ministries, helping men recently out of prison to get back into society and ministering to them, also. She later became a Chaplain for the Georgia State Corrections Department visiting several different jails and prisons, spreading the word of God.
Monna was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving and devoted husband of forty-nine years, Jeffery Pearson.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Monna are her children, Summer Roman (Ricardo) of Warner Robins, Rusty Pearson (Brandi) of Perry, Jemel Riggins of Twiggs County, and Tremel Riggins of Perry; and eight grandchildren.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral has been entrusted with the arrangements.
