MOLLIE JONES CULPEPPER's Obituary
ATHENS –
Mollie Anderson Jones Culpepper, 85, formerly of Perry, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the home of Kevin and Mollie Tolbert at 175 Devereux Drive, Athens, GA. A graveside ceremony will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery in Fort Valley on Sunday, March 8, 2026, for friends in the Middle Georgia area. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Athens First United Methodist Church, 327 N Lumpkin St, Athens, GA 30601.
A native of Fort Valley, GA, Mollie graduated from Fort Valley High School in 1959, attended Mercer University where she was an initiate of Phi Mu Fraternity, and graduated from Wesleyan College. She taught English and Speech at Peach County High School, where in 1981, she was named STAR Teacher. She later taught in both a full-time and substitute capacity at The Westfield School. Mollie was a devoted member of Athens First United Methodist Church and the Disciples Sunday School Class.
Mollie was predeceased by her parents, Charlie Julian Jones and Lena Gertrude Peavy Jones; and her beloved husband of 57 years, Charles F. Culpepper, Jr.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Mollie are her daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie and Boyd Brooks of Demorest, GA, and Mollie Charles and Kevin Tolbert of Athens; her grandchildren, Sarah Alice Brooks of Charleston, SC, Aaron Brooks (Hannah) of Clarkesville, GA, Palmer Tolbert (Daniela) of Savannah, GA, and Mollie Asbury Braddy (Ben) of Fitzgerald, GA; and two great-grandchildren.
