Mildred Tucker Mygrant's Obituary
PERRY-
Mildred Tucker Mygrant, 89, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2013. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at Houston Lake Baptist Church. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 8, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mygrant was born in Byron to the late William B. "Brack" and Frances Leverette Tucker. A life-long resident of Houston County, she was a Baptist. Having lost her mother when she was six years old, she had a nurturing spirit from a very young age that developed into a deep love for her family and friends. Affectionately known as "Mama" by most all who knew her, Mrs. Mygrant was very caring and giving, always placing other's needs before her own. She worked for 34 years in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base in various positions, retiring as an Instrument Technician. Mrs. Mygrant took pride in what she did, outperformed everyone around her, and encouraged her co-workers, bringing out the best in them to excel. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alvin Mygrant; a brother, Harris Tucker; and two sisters, Virginia Tucker and Alice Taylor.
Left to cherish the memories of "Mama" are her sons, Ben Mygrant (Laura) of Byron and Randy Mygrant of Perry; her grandchildren, Al Mygrant, Stephanie Gilmore (Rusty), Daniel Mygrant (Darlene), Christopher Mygrant, Nick Wiatrek, and A.J. Wiatrek; her brother, Richard Tucker (Annette); her sisters, Linda Amy and Jewel Tucker; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friend and caregiver of over three years, Faye Parker, whom she thought of as her daughter.
Friends are invited to leave condolences for the family in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
