I met Mendy 31 years ago in Florida and we became fast friends. Mendy was intelligent, beautiful, kind and good. She was a loyal human being, even when taken for granted, she was a true lady. Mendy was my best friend and I love her.
Although Mendy was tall, she was never very big, but I leaned on her and she leaned on me.
Mendy loved istening to Carlos Santana, she loved tulips and the beach.
After moving from Florida we stayed in contact with each other and often had coffee together over the phone. She kept me updated on her children, Caroline and Christopher. Mendy was a good mother and had so much grace as a parent and grandparent. She was such a precious and gentle person, she just loved her grandbabies and shared numerous stories about them. She spoke with so much love and pride of her family there in Georgia. I can remember her talking about an Aunt Earline. Her sister KayKay, her cousin Phyllis and numerous other family members. She loved you all very much. She often talked about Gavin, Claire, Kat, and Caroline and always had something positive to say about the people in her life.
Mendy was tall and she was small, but she made a big impact on my life. I consider it a privilege to have known her and to call her my friend. I am lost without her.
Mendy, I was waiting for you. I had a beach bag packed for you. I had picked up so many things to give you and now you're gone. We were going to travel and beach hop together and now you've gone on without me. Just like at the beach, we were tie-dyed and free, we were peace, love, and "chewing gum."
Now you are at peace and you will forever be loved my dear and true friend.
I love you Mendy.
