PERRY-Melvin V Myers, 72, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017. A Service to Celebrate his Life will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home with a visitation just prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Melvin will then be transported to Spencer Funeral Home in Spencer, Tennessee, for a Visitation on Friday, January 13, 2017, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the Funeral Service on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Walling Cemetery in Spencer, Tennessee, immediately following the Saturday service.Melvin was an Industrial Electrician at Crown Cork & Seal, formerly Continental Can, where he retired in 1996 after over 30 years of service. He loved his friends, and he loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. His thoroughly enjoyed Bike Week on Main Street in Daytona, Florida, every year. Left to cherish the memories of Melvin are his loving wife of 25 years, Cathy Myers of Perry; his children, Sharolyn Hudson of Warner Robins, Roy Myers (Amy) of Juliette, Marsha Myers of Pinellas Park, Florida, Heather Harris (Eric) of Bogart, and Derrick Catlett (Shelly) of Macon; his grandchildren who lovingly referred to Melvin as "Poppie", Harley Hill, Cole Myers, Chloe Myers, Shea Myers, John Harris, and Luke Harris; his siblings, Martha Myers of Auburndale, Florida, Jimmy Myers (Elaine) of Vero Beach, Florida, and Dillard Myers of Spencer, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the local arrangements. Spencer Funeral Home will handle the arrangements in Tennessee.
