Maxine Dean Ray, 82, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Perry Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m before the service. Interment will be private. The family suggests contributions to Wounded Warriors, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas, 66675 or Childrens Healthcare (Egleston) of Atlanta, 1405 Clifton Road, N.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30322.
Mrs. Ray was born in Hazelhurst, Georgia and was the daughter of the late John T. and Mattie A. Horton. She had lived in Houston County since 1950. She was a retired mail carrier for the United State Postal Service. Mrs. Ray and her loving husband of 67 years loved fishing and her loving family.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Rodger Frank Ray of Kathleen; children, Phyllis Moore (John Mask) of Buford, Georgia, Deborah Ray Simon (Wayne) of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Karen Holder of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Teresa Ray of Bonaire, and Brenda Ray of Kathleen; eleven grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittany A. Dicks
