Matthew Melton 'M.M.' Cloud's Obituary

Matthew Melton "M.M." Cloud, Jr., 92, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Perry. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00, the hour preceding the service, at the church. Flowers will be greatfully accepted or contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, International Headquarters, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
Mr. Cloud was born in Knoxville, Georgia, to the late Matthew M. Cloud, Sr. and Josie Hancock Cloud. He was initiated into the Houston Lodge #35, F & A.M. on May 14, 1945, was a past W.M. and a past Chaplain. He worked as a Field Superintendent at Macon Machine Shop/Georgia Steel Erectors and retired in 1986 as a Building Inspector with the City of Perry. A member of First Baptist Church of Perry, Mr. Cloud was very active in the Barnabus Sunday School Class which enjoys providing hospital equipment to homebound. He was a member of the Al Sihah Shrine, Perry Shrine, Dooly County Shrine, and Ft. Valley Shrine. As a faithful member, he assisted in hosting the annual Widows' Luncheon, sending children to the Shrine Circus, and passionately supporting the Shriners Hospital for Children. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Annie Maude Boswell Cloud; and his siblings, Calvin Cloud, Eunice Easler, Nell Cosey, and James Cloud.
Left to cherish the memories of "Pepa" are his children, Melton Cloud of Byron, Marion Cloud of Perry, Meredith Ellis (Chuck) of Woodbury, Georgia, and Michael Cloud (Denise) of Woodbury, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Michelle Cloud Brown, Matt Cloud (Ashley), Robin Witherington (Allen), Justin Cloud, Ryan Cloud (Mandy), and Tyler Cloud; his great-grandchildren, Will, Allison, and Brooke Witherington; and several nieces and nephews.
