MARY SUE PROFFIT BOUTWEL's Obituary
PERRY, GA –
Mary Sue Proffitt Boutwell, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, after an extended illness. At her request, all services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Association, 3040 Riverside Drive, Macon, GA 31210, or Georgia Hospice Care, 645 Tallulah Trail, Suite 202, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
Mary Sue was born on November 25, 1942, in Lenoir, North Carolina, to the late Wayne and Blanche Shepard Proffit. After high school graduation, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Caldwell Community College. Mary Sue was an Executive Secretary at Blue Ridge Electric in Lenoir for many years. She loved the Lord and was always thankful for the blessing of her family.
Mary Sue was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; her beloved husband of fifty years, George W. Washington, Jr.; and her grandson, Nicholas Boutwell.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Mary Sue are her loving and devoted son and daughter-in-law, George and Robin Boutwell of Perry, GA; her great-granddaughter, Rylee Jean Boutwell and her mother, Lacy Boutwell.
The family would like to extend sincerest Thanks to the staff and administration of The Oaks Nursing Home in Marshallville for their kind and loving support and care of Mary Sue during her time there.
